SINGING SOUND AND SILENCE
Workshop with Lorrayn de Peyer
Self-expression through making music and singing is something human beings have done since we set foot on the planet. Whether singing as we hoe the fields, in Church, at weddings, funerals, for celebration or commiseration it seems to nurture the essence of our souls. In this workshop we will use the rhythm of nature in songs, sounds and silence to inspire and heal us. This workshop is for people who want to find and develop their voices and learn to sing songs and harmonies. Singing and music help increase a sense of well being, self-confidence, and personal power and the workshop will include breath work, relaxation exercises, vocal training, process work, visualisation and experiential expression techniques, as well as discussion, information and lots of singing.
All styles and levels of ability are welcome; if you are a beginner who has never sung before or a more advanced singer than you will be welcome and we will look at this as the first step of a new creative journey for each of you.
The workshop is led by Lorrayn de Peyer Director/Founder of THE COURAGE TO SING. Lorrayn brings a gentle and holistic approach to her facilitation. The concept of connection to source and your passion to promote emotional well being and fulfilment through creative expression are fundamental tenants in her approach. The singing and recording thus become a metaphor for personal development in all aspects of your lives.
