Following the Hollywood 2012 film release, an army of academics have been trying to pour cold water on the 2012 subject. In fact, they have been tripping over themselves, with contradictions and misinformation, in their attempts to steer people away from the subject. Geoff will look at some of these attempts, and show how recent discoveries (this year) about Monument 6 from Tortuguero (the “only inscription showing the 2012 date”), have been played down, but are actually quite exciting, and some Mayanists are finding that Galactic Alignment was encoded within the monument. The original translation of the final portion of the monument suggested that the nine gods “Bolon Yokte” would “descend” in 2012, but the new translations have more to say.
