Cancer Support Day Open To All
AXCIS ( Axminster Cancer Information and Support) and The Awareness Centre are pleased to announce their upcoming cancer support day on 5 th September 2010. The event is being held at The Awareness Centre, Chard Street, Axminster from 10am until 4pm.
AXCIS promotes a holistic approach to cancer, treating the mind, body and spirit at this most difficult of times. This includes using complementary therapies to work alongside conventional medicine. Therapies including acupuncture, reflexology and shiatsu massage, all designed to help relax and calm in a proven way.
The complementary therapists at The Awareness Centre are all professional trained and qualified and experienced in dealing with patients with cancer and other long-term illnesses.
The support day will involve some talks, a chance to share your individual journey, collect vouchers entitling you to free complementary therapies, some meditation, practicing breathing and relaxation techniques, and nutritional advice. Healing is also available to those who wish it.
AXCIS acting co-ordinator Sandy Boyd says of the event ‘ This is a great day for people with cancer and their family and carers to come along and find out more information. It's also a perfect chance to talk to other people who are in the same situation and who have experiences similar to yourselves.'
