The Awareness Centre Axminster
The Awareness Centre is a registered charity providing healing, complementary health care and educational & activity classes, workshops and lectures. The centre is very unique as it is the only centre in the UK that provides drop-in healing from Monday to Saturday. No appointment is necessary, no fee is charged although donations are gratefully accepted to help with our running costs.
We opened in our present premises in March 1997, after 3 years of formative work and healing put in by the Awareness Group.
We have a team of 16 dedicated healers who have trained with either West Country Natural Healing Fellowship or National Federation of Spiritual Healers or various other professional organisations. They have all been accredited and hold professional insurance. Healing is available here Monday to Friday daily and Saturday mornings.(Click on Healing pages). We are now the registered training centre for West Country Natural Healing Fellowship who provide a 5 part programme of learning here at the centre.
We have 8 excellent complementary practitioners who work from our rooms, providing a wide range of therapies such as Acupuncture, Osteopathy,Massage, Hypnotherapy, Herbal Medicine,Counselling, Shiatsu, Bowen and Reflexology (Click on Therapy pages)
We are soon (January 2009) to start a new Cancer Information and Support group called AXCIS ( our volunteers have all been trained with Macmillan Nursing) to provide support, information, therapies at reduced rates and counselling (see Holistic Approach to Cancer)
We run weekly classes in Yoga, Tai Chi, Baby Massage, Meditation and Personal & Spiritual development groups. The weekends see us hosting workshops and talks.
Through our programme of events, we hope to be able to offer a greater awareness of the natural ways to enhance the lives of all those interested in healing, health, self-development and spiritual growth.
The Centre is located in a lovely Georgian house with a beautiful walled garden, in central Axminster a few minutes walk from the main Waterloo-Exeter line. Our Centre aims to make everyone feel welcome and to share in its light, peace and tranquility.
The Centre runs the Awareness Group's lively series of lectures, demonstrations and workshops, covering a wide variety of subjects on healing, spiritual awareness, clairvoyance, self-development and related topics.
Rooms are available to hire during the day, evenings, Saturdays and Sundays for talks, courses and workshops related to health and healing. Anyone wishing to hire rooms may contact the Centre with
